Well here's another. I'm not completely convinced by it. He's the main character in the story but his colours just aren't sitting right in my mind. I've tried numerous combos.... anyone out there let me know what you think!

I see why you chose these colours, quite realistic, like an old school aviator/adventurer. I would just try a slightly darker khaki, so there is a tad more contrast between the skin tone and the clothing. That might make the stitching details etc. more visible also. Well, that's what I think.
Nice character though, he is defintiely the fearless, morally uncorruptable leader type.
